From midnight to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022, on its third annual CofC day, the College of Charleston will celebrate the 252nd anniversary of its founding. In light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, CofC Day will offer graduates, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends the opportunity to come together in person and virtually for a day of giving to the College.
To boost pride, excitement and energy throughout the day, a variety of fun events will be held including:
- More than 20 regional CofC clubs from London to Los Angeles will host CofC Day parties for local alumni, relatives and friends to celebrate together.
- The Lowcountry CofC Day event will include a pre-game cheer rally from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Cistern Yard, featuring four food trucks, the Chucktown Sound cheer squad, cheerleaders CofC, the Cougarettes dance team, Clyde the Cougar and brown velvet birthday cupcakes. In addition to donating $5 to CofC Day, ticket holders will receive a CofC Day t-shirt, $10 food truck voucher, and two beverages (beer or wine). After the cheer rally, the men’s basketball team will face off against Hofstra at 7 p.m. at TD Arena, and alumni will be able to purchase discounted game tickets.
- CofC Day Webcast Hosted by Former Emmy Award Winner Lu Parker ’90 of KTLA in Los Angeles and alumnus Mikel Hannah Harding ’19, meteorologist at WRDW in Augusta, Georgia, will be on the Alumni Association YouTube channel from 7-9 p.m. on campus, how donor donations are used and more.
The College’s 24-hour giving day has something for everyone. Donations will fund everything from scholarships to campus improvements to specific school initiatives. Visit the CofC Day website to see where your passion for the College takes you and plan your participation on January 27.
