Town of Spiritwood Lake Council Meeting Tuesday, July 5, 2022 Mayor Grimm called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Council present Steckler, Klein, Schlecht, Krapp and Auditor Krapp Guest present Van Amundson, Shirli and Mickey Nenow Schlecht moved to ‘approve June minutes with correction to add $100.00 to amount of check #3941, 2nd by Steckler, MC Steckler moved to approve June 28 minutes of special meeting 2nd by Schlecht, MC Krapp moved to approve financial statement 2nd by Steckler Klein offers to pay bills 2nd by Krapp, MC 3943 Shirly Krapp 923.50 3944 Shirly Krapp 20.00 3945 CDS 1068.00 3946 Northern Plains 25.65 3947 Forum Communications 61.56 3948 Chip Steckler 3949 United States Treasury 459.00 3950 SCD Watershed 6,360.07 Highway Fund 310 Stutsman County Hiway Dept 218.12 Old Case: 319 Grant Update – Meeting with Paul Klosterman next week to review pastures. The water withdrawal is going well. DO readings have been the same as the last 3 consecutive years at this time of year. Funds are still available for projects. SE Outlet Update-Shirly contacted, working on license wording and operating plan at this time. – Water always flows through the outlet about a foot deep. Members of the Lake Association clean the grates. Some talk of the water flowing from the north of the lake. Further discussion took place on the geese – would like to see some water testing once in a while when they come in the fall. Of course, they are there until they freeze, which is extremely difficult to test at that time. Walking Trail Update – Kirk will work out a deal with Eric. Plan to start mowing the path. Roads need to be razed, contact Quigley, he’ll take care of it. Follow-up discussions on waste management: Calls were made to residents, the Lake Association was posted on the Facebook page. Items must NOT be put in dumpsters or we may lose our business. NO: Building materials, furniture, appliances and electronics, dead animals, items outside of dumpsters – only regular household garbage in bags should be put in dumpsters. Schlecht has offered to clean up the town in June of next year, in conjunction with the Lake Association, dates to be determined and Verifier’s mailing notice, 2nd by Krapp New venture: management fees overdue waste – 2 full, 7 seasonal, auditor will send overdue notices. A discussion took place regarding dust control for Glenwood and Spiritwood Avenue, the auditor will request a quote, the roads will need to be leveled just before. The grass should be cut by railings – Schlecht and Grimm will do. Some tree pruning is needed around town, auditor will contact person Schlecht moved to issue additional special use permit for July 30th for Spiritwood Resort, 2nd by Steckler MC Next regular council meeting will be held Tuesday, August 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chip Steckler Shop 617 Spiritwood Avenue Krapp moved to adjourn at 8:27 p.m.
