Damodaran, Deputy Judge XXIII, Attached to the City Civil Court, ordered the notice when the supplementary affidavit filed by S Suriyamoorthy of Avilipatti Village in Dindigul District was heard today.
The petition, describing OPS as a former party treasurer and EPS as the party’s former district secretary, urged the court to stop them and others from calling the July 11 general meeting or any other date.
Suriyamurthy initially filed a petition in the city’s civil court to block the meeting scheduled for June 23.

The AIADMK, in a meeting held in 2017, had the right to hold the meeting on June 23, as their election itself was illegal and against the party constitution. No civil court had endorsed their election. Even the Election Commission of India gave no permission for this, he claimed. The June 23 meeting was contrary to the party’s constitutional provisions and should therefore be suspended, he added.
However, assistant judge IV had, on June 16, refused to grant any reprieve.
Today, Suriyamurthy filed the additional affidavit to prevent those affected from holding the GC meeting on July 11 on any other date.
